Special ICLEI Café was held on the 26th of November
The theme of the 3rd ICLEI Café of 2021 was “the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26)”. ICLEI Japan reported on the outcomes of the summit and negotiations, as well as the activities as the secretariat of the LGMA (Local Governments and Municipal Authorities Constituency) and the initiatives taken by local governments. Yokohama City, which was the only municipality to participate in the COP26’s side events, gave an introduction to the event and its activities. As the Paris Agreement enters the implementation phase, the focus is on adaptation efforts and the role of local governments and the collaboration of non-governmental actors is attracting attention.
