Tokyo Metropolitan Government Endorses Edinburgh Declaration
On 19th May, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike signed the “Edinburgh Declaration” in supports of its aims.
The Edinburgh Declaration was formulated to reflect the voices of local governments in the “Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework” to be adopted at the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD-COP15) and has been signed by 54 local governments in Japan (as of May 20, 2021).
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will continue to develop highly effective and pioneering policies for the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, and fulfill its mission as a major city.
