On November 25, Mr Gino Van Beggin, representing the World Secretariat of ICLEI, visited the Japan office to commemorate the outstanding 17-year tenure of Prof. Hamanaka, the former Chair of ICLEI Japan, following his attendance at the Saitama Sustainable City Summit – E-KIZUNA Global Summit.

During his visit, Mr Van Beggin shared cordial moments with Togo Uchida, the Executive Director of ICLEI Japan, Takashi Otsuka, the former Executive Director, and the entire office staff.Former Executive Director Michie Kishigami, together with the staff and interns who had contributed to the efforts of ICLEI Japan, were presented with a video message dedicated to Prof. Hamanaka, allowing them to reflect on the organization’s long-standing history.
