Kyoto City Assembly has resolved the written opinion for enhanced countermeasures against global warming based on Climate Crisis and Climate Emergency. (Submitted on the 30th of October 2019)
The opinion based on climate crisis and climate emergency was submitted for the first time at a local assembly of prefectures or government-designated municipalities in Japan. It asks the Japanese government to enhance the following points:
– Accelerate global warming countermeasures properly to meet the Year 2030 objective (26% Co2 reduction compared to 2013)
– Set an ambitious target to the introduction of renewable energy
– Expand the support to local governments’ policies which make the target value more enhanced.
