[Tokyo] Governor speaks on advancing a Carbon-Neutral, Resilient Recovery for Cities and Nations

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike attended a meeting between the C40 leaders and the UN Secretary-General on 16th, April. This meeting was held under the theme of “Advancing a Carbon-Neutral, Resilient Recovery for Cities and Nations”. At the meeting, the UN Secretary-General and the C40 leaders discussed equitable and green recovery from the COVID-19, with a focus on increasing climate change efforts and ambition.
Ms. Koike stated that the actions of cities are very important for decarbonization, and made a speech about developing a global movement to confront the climate crisis under the slogan “Time to Act”.
