Virtual Event “Hiroshima 2022: Zero-Carbon Global Warming!”
In order to promote measures against global warming by citizens, enterprises, and the government working together, the “Hiroshima Citizens’ Council for Zero Carbon Planning” has taken the lead in organising the “Zero Carbon・Global Warming! Citizens’ Promote Campaign” and held an environmental event “Hiroshima 2022: Zero-Carbon Global Warming!”.
This event has been held since 2017 with the aim of deepening citizens, enterprises, and others about the current situation of global warming and the measures to be g taken as well as to build momentum for all actors to work together to tackle global warming through lectures by experts on the global warming issues. This fifth event was held online to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus and was attended by around 110 people.
After the opening remarks, ICLEI Japan Director, Togo Uchida has gave a presentation entitled “Environmental Action in the World: Our Action- What the International Community Agreed at COP26”, introducing the case studies of the international community and local government against global environmental issues.
