Matsuyama SDGs Promotion Association – Matsuyama SDGs Café
The Matsuyama SDGs Promotion Association, a public-private partnership platform regularly holds the Matsuyama SDGs Café (seminars and other workshops) to learn about knowledge and trends, and local issues related to the SDGs. The 9 March café was held jointly with the “Creative Class,” a community called ‘Matsuyama Mirai Kobo’ established by four high schools in Matsuyama City, under the theme of ‘How to Survive in the Era of Global Boiling’.
On the day, Togo Uchida, Executive Director of ICLEI Japan, took the stage and gave an easy-to-understand speech on the mechanisms of climate change, its current situation and its impact in the world, under the theme of ‘Global Impacts and Status of Climate Change – Report from COP28’, as well as reported on his participation at COP28 held in Dubai, UAE, with photos and video footage. In addition, the high school students were also given advice during their presentation of the results of their exploratory activities and carefully answered various questions from the high school students during the free discussion.
There was a great response from the participating high school students, saying that it was good to know what is going on in the world and that it had an impact on their future behaviour.
