Proceeding of Workshop on Asian Cities for Climate Protection Campaign

The “Workshop on Asian Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) Campaign” was held in November 1996 by ICLEI, the Saitama Prefectural Government, and the Environment Agency of Japan. The workshop aimed to promote the CCP Campaign launched in 1995. About 90 municipal staff members from 40 Asian and Pacific governments attended, sharing information and ideas on climate change measures. It was agreed to expand the campaign to the Asia Pacific region, develop guidelines for local action plans, and hold workshops. Currently, only seven municipalities from the region are participating, and ICLEI aims to increase involvement by distributing the guidelines.
