The Bonn-Fiji Commitment of Local and Regional Leaders to Deliver the Paris Agreement At All Levels
At the ‘Climate Summit by Chiefs’ held at OP23 (Bonn, Germany), the ‘Bonn Fiji Declaration’ was issued, showing the determination of the chiefs of local governments to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The Declaration states commitments by cities and regions to raise ambitions for climate action and calls on governments to strengthen ties with cities and regions. It also describes joint initiatives by cities and regions to accelerate efforts to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.
