ICLEI Member Nagoya participates in the COP15 of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands

Nagoya City participated in the certification ceremony for the Ramsar Convention Wetland Cities Certification Scheme held at the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands (COP15) in Victoria Falls (Republic of Zimbabwe) from 23 to 31 July 2025.
Nagoya City was accredited as a ‘Ramsar Wetland City’ under the Wetland City Accreditation Scheme of the Ramsar Convention at the 64th Meeting of the Ramsar Convention Standing Committee held in Gland, Switzerland, from 20 to 24 January 2025.
At the certification ceremony, Nagoya shared its efforts to conserve the ‘Fujimae-higata’ (Nagoya City), the Ramsar Site, and exchanged various views through speaking at the side event organised by the ICLEI’s Cities Biodiversity Center (CBC), and through bilateral meetings with the Mayor of Victoria Falls, the host city, and the Executive Secretary of the Ramsar Convention.
Three youths from Nagoya also participated and actively exchanged information with youths from other countries.
