Hiroshima Peace Declaration | Hiroshima City Mayor’s Message for a World Without Nuclear Weapons

Hiroshima City is committed to realizing a truly peaceful world without nuclear weapons. To achieve this goal, the city works to preserve, share with people around the world, and pass on to future generations the reality of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima—the foundation of survivors’ enduring desire for peace.

On the official Hiroshima City YouTube channel, videos of the Hiroshima Peace Declaration, delivered annually by the Mayor of Hiroshima at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony on August 6, are available in both Japanese and English.

The Peace Declaration conveys Hiroshima’s message of peace to the world, calling for an end to nuclear weapons and a future free from the devastation caused by nuclear war. We invite you to watch the videos and reflect on Hiroshima’s message for peace.

Hiroshima City hopes that by encouraging as many people as possible to think about peace and take action, the circle of people committed to building a peaceful world will continue to grow.
