Kyoto City held the symposium to mark IPCC-49 and announced “Kyoto Appeal”
On 11th May, Kyoto City Mayor announced that Kyoto will pursue all necessary measures and advance concrete actions towards carbon neutrality by 2050. Taking this high ambition, “Kyoto Appeal – for keeping the global average temperature rise below 1.5 ℃” was announced together with the Minister of Environment, Japan and researchers with the Chair of ICLEI Japan. Kyoto Appeal and IPCCKyotoGuideline are two significant achievements from the IPCC session in Kyoto.
