Yokohama Mayor visits ICLEI Japan office
On 1 August, Takeharu Yamanaka, Mayor of Yokohama City visited ICLEI Japan Office and held a meeting with Kazuhiko Takemoto, Chair of ICLEI Japan.
Mayor Yamanaka reported on his participation in a climate summit organized by the Roman Curia, which ICLEI Japan assisted in arranging. He then exchanged views with Chair Takemoto on the importance of the role of cities in combating climate change and other issues and made strong statements about his desire to lead the fight against climate change in cities.
Mayor Yamanaka also emphasized the importance of cooperation with ICLEI Japan and encouraged ICLEI Japan’s future activities.
