国連機関との連携活動
イクレイはリオ3条約と呼ばれる気候変動枠組条約（UNFCCC）、生物多様性条約（CBD）および砂漠化対処条約（UNCCD）のオブザーバーとして立場を認定されています。
イクレイはこれら３つの条約での問題提起や交渉に積極的に参加しています。
気候変動枠組条約では地方自治体（LGMA） のフォーカルポイントとして発言権を持っています。生物多様性条約では生物多様性保全と生態系サービスの持続可能な利用にむけた地方自治体の取り組みに関するグローバル・パートナーシップのリーディング・パートナーとしてCBD事務局と覚書を締結しています。
- 国連環境開発会議（UNCED）（1992年リオデジャネイロ、2002年ヨハネスブルグ、2012年リオデジャネイロ）への参画
- 国連持続可能な開発委員会（UNCSD）への参加や報告提出
- 国連気候変動枠組条約（UNFCCC）協議ステータス
- 国連気候変動枠組み条約や生物多様性条約締約国会議（COP）への参加
- 国連環境計画（UNEP）運営委員会への参加、共同事業の実施
- 国際連合人間居住計画（UN-Habitat）、国際自然保護連盟（IUCN）との共同活動
- 世界経済フォーラム（WEF）への参加
活動内容
イクレイでは、プログラムやイベント、セミナーの実施や出版物の発行などを通じた情報発信など、環境問題の解決に向けて様々な活動を行っています。
Associate Partnership is available to non-governmental organizations, universities, state and national government agencies and not-for-profit research institutions. The purpose of Associate Partnership is to facilitate dialogues between local governments and these partners, to provide knowledge transfer in line with ICLEI’s Mission and Charter, and an avenue for which partners can support ICLEI’s work and mandate.
