ICLEI Japan has received a donation from Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd. under its “Circular Economy Lease (CE Lease)” initiative. The donation ceremony was held on January 28, 2026.

Launched in March 2023, the Fuyo Circular Economy Lease program promotes resource circulation by ensuring that returned leased assets are properly reused and recycled. Through this mechanism, the initiative advances circular economy practices and supports the transition toward a more sustainable, resource-efficient society.

Under the program, a portion of the revenue generated through circular leasing activities is allocated to support environmental and sustainability initiatives. ICLEI Japan has been selected as one of the recipient organizations, marking the first time it has received such support.

The donation will support ICLEI Japan’s efforts to promote circular economy policies and practices among local governments and other stakeholders, including initiatives such as the Asian Circular Cities Declaration (ACCD) and capacity-building activities for sustainable urban development. 

Thanks to this donation, ICLEI Japan has been able to advance its circular development initiatives, including the inaugural ceremony of the ACCD, where the founding cities were announced.

In response to this generous contribution, ICLEI Japan will continue to contribute to the advancement of the circular economy, including through the ACCD, and further promote initiatives toward a circular society.
