首長からのメッセージ
坂本 健 板橋区長
板橋区は、1993年に、人と環境が共生する都市をめざし「エコポリス板橋環境都市宣言」を行い、区と区民が地球環境に配慮し、日常生活から環境保全に努めていくことを内外に表明しました。
1994年に、東南アジアの熱帯雨林を再現した「板橋区立熱帯環境植物館」を、1995年に、環境・リサイクルに関する総合啓発拠点施設として「エコポリスセンター」を開設しました。2003年には、区内の小学校で「緑のカーテン」を実施しました。2022年に、ゼロカーボンシティ実現のため、2050年までに二酸化炭素排出量実質ゼロをめざす「ゼロカーボンいたばし2050」を表明し、人と緑を未来へつなぐスマートシティを推進し、持続可能な社会の構築をめざします。
板橋区の概要
板橋区は、東京23区の北西部に位置し、北部の沖積低地と南部の武蔵野台地から形成されており、低地と台地の間の崖線には、緑豊かな自然が残っています。広大な河川敷を有する荒川や、武蔵野の面影を残す赤塚の森、美しい桜並木に彩られる石神井川などの豊かな自然に恵まれたまちとなっています。
板橋区は、人口約58.7万人を擁する生活都市です。新河岸川（荒川の支流）沿岸部をはじめ都内でも有数の工業集積地であるとともに、近隣商店街を中心とする商業や、埼玉県境に近い赤塚地域における都市農業が併存しており、都内有数の産業都市としての顔も持っています。
環境面の取り組み
板橋区では、令和7年度に、「みどりをはぐくむ、循環・共生・協創のまち ～GO GREEN いたばし～」を将来像とする「板橋区環境基本計画2035」を策定しました。ゼロカーボンシティの実現に向けた取組として、区民生活において、省エネ行動の推進を図る「いたばしエコポイント事業」や、企業の環境配慮活動を支援する「板橋エコアクション事業」をリニューアルし、地域の環境活動を推進していきます。
また、区においても、本庁舎をはじめとした区施設への再生可能エネルギー100%電力の導入やZEB化などを進めていきます。
Associate Partnership is available to non-governmental organizations, universities, state and national government agencies and not-for-profit research institutions. The purpose of Associate Partnership is to facilitate dialogues between local governments and these partners, to provide knowledge transfer in line with ICLEI’s Mission and Charter, and an avenue for which partners can support ICLEI’s work and mandate.
