イクレイ日本は、芙蓉総合リース株式会社が実施する「芙蓉サーキュラーエコノミーリース」の寄付先の1つとして選定され、1月28日（水）に寄付金授与式を行いました。
イクレイ日本が寄付金を授与するのは初めてのことです。

イクレイ日本のユース（学生派遣事業）は、会員自治体と協働し、若者（ユース）が国際会議や海外交流に参加する機会を提供することで、学び・経験・ネットワークの拡大を支援しています。学生の選考から派遣、活動支援まで一貫して行い、将来の持続可能な社会を担う人材の育成を目指しています。
「イクレイ・カフェ」は、会員自治体職員を対象に、国際交渉の最新動向や自治体の取組事例を学び、意見交換や情報共有を通じてネットワークを広げるための定期的な勉強会・交流プログラムです。
COP30は2025年11月にブラジル・ベレンで開催され、「実施（Implementation）」を前面に掲げた会議となりました。都市や地域（地方自治体）など“現場”からの気候変動対策の重要性が強調されました。
Daring Cities 2025 は、イクレイとドイツ・ボン市が共催するイベントで、オンラインのウェビナーシリーズと6月にボン市で対面開催されるボン・ダイアログで構成されています。今年のテーマは「マルチレベルの行動による、より強力な国家気候計画」です。
2025年8月、スイス・ジュネーブで、「プラスチック汚染に関する政府間交渉委員会（INC）」の第5回再開会合（INC5.2）が開催されました。イクレイが会期前にINCのプロセスに関わる人々と接触した限りでは、大多数がジュネーブで合意に至るだろうと希望を抱いていました。しかし、残念ながら合意には至らず再開会合は閉会しました。

「イクレイ（ICLEI）－ 持続可能な都市と地域をめざす自治体協議会」は、持続可能な未来の構築に取り組む市、町、地域からなる世界的なネットワークです。
1990年9月5日、ニューヨークの国連本部に43か国から200都市を代表する地方自治体関係者が集まり、イクレイが誕生しました。以来、イクレイは125か国以上2,500以上の地方自治体によるグローバルタスクフォースの中心的存在となりました。
2025年9月、イクレイは設立35周年を迎えました !

バンコクは、イクレイに1995年に加盟し、アジア太平洋地域における先進的なメンバー都市の一つとして、持続可能な都市づくりに長年取り組んできました。加盟以降、同市は気候変動対策や都市環境の改善に積極的に取り組んでおり、特に温室効果ガス削減、都市のレジリエンス強化、廃棄物管理の高度化、グリーンインフラの推進などの分野で具体的な施策を展開しています。
近年では、アジアにおける循環型都市の実現を目指す「アジア循環型都市宣言制度（ACCD）」にも参画し、創設都市の一つとして名を連ねています。バンコクは、資源循環や廃棄物削減に関する知見や経験を域内都市と共有しながら、地域全体の循環型経済への移行を牽引する役割を担っています。
Associate Partnership is available to non-governmental organizations, universities, state and national government agencies and not-for-profit research institutions. The purpose of Associate Partnership is to facilitate dialogues between local governments and these partners, to provide knowledge transfer in line with ICLEI’s Mission and Charter, and an avenue for which partners can support ICLEI’s work and mandate.
